We have Honda’s brand new crossover in stock now at West Michigan Honda Dealers, and, as such, we also have our first 2016 Honda HR-V review for you. Because we know you expect us to love the HR-V—and we do—we also have the thoughts of three leading auto critics so that you can make the right choice for your next crossover.

Of course, the 2016 Honda HR-V review we are most interested in is yours, and you can only give us that with a test drive.

Our 2016 HR-V Review

Our first thought on looking at the HR-V was simply a stunned silence. We had seen the promotional images the same as you, but once it arrived in our dealerships, we were impressed by how aerodynamic and streamlined its exterior design was in person. Despite being a compact crossover, the HR-V has more than enough room to comfortably seat up to five, and whether you choose its basic LX trim, the high-end EX-L Navi, or the mid-range EX, the HR-V is well-equipped, even bordering on the luxurious.

It’s tough to pick a favorite part, but if you pressed us, we would say it was the Honda Magic Seat that lets you fold up the rear seat for taller cargo, fold down the rear seatback for more room, or even fold down the front passenger seat to accommodate items up to eight feet long.

Critics Weigh In

We have reviews from three top auto critics for you as well:

  • “The HR-V is an even better vehicle than the Fit from which it’s derived, offering better refinement and feeling more upscale and substantial.” – Car and Driver
  • “The HR-V’s size and price make it a prime contender against small haulers like the Nissan Juke and Kia Soul, as well as an emergent group of miniature SUVs.” – Edmunds.com
  • “[The HR-V is] blessed with an absorbent ride and devoid of the ‘sporty’ tuning that leaves some small SUVs with frantic steering and jittery body control. The HR-V’s steering is relaxed, the body motions are well-controlled and the HR-V doesn’t feel a bit brittle, even on terrible roads on both coasts.” – The Car Connection
