We’ve been loving the sound of the upcoming Honda HR-V ever since the vehicle showed up on Honda’s website as a “future car,” and now we finally have a bit more news for you: it’s being officially debuted at the 2014 Los Angeles Auto Show. Honda will unveil the new vehicle on November 19th at 12:35 PM PST, and even if you can’t make it to LA for the show, you should be able to find out information on the HR-V online shortly after its debut.
We’ll even have a blog post up here as soon as we can.
What We Know About the HR-V
Since the HR-V was announced, Honda’s been pretty mum about just what it is this compact crossover will be capable of. We do know a few things though, including:
- The HR-V will be built on the same platform as the already incredibly popular 2015 Honda Fit.
- Like the 2015 Fit, the HR-V will feature Honda’s Magic Seat technology, letting you fold down some or all of the rear seating to accommodate cargo and passengers. The seats will fold flat for maximum convenience.
- It’s a compact crossover, so we expect it to be a bit larger than the Fit and a bit smaller than the CR-V.
- Honda anticipates a winter release for the HR-V.
For now, though, that’s all we know. If you’re anything like us, you’re likely wondering what the HR-V will drive like. Though it’s a crossover, we don’t expect it to drive too much like the CR-V due to its smaller size. And although it’s built on the Fit’s platform, the Fit is a pretty unique vehicle in and of itself, and we expect the HR-V to handle quite differently than Honda’s hatchback.
The short answer is that we’ll just have to wait and see.
